Return to physiological and nutritional disorders

Boron deficiency is rare in most vegetables in Kentucky, but does appear in broccoli and cauliflower. In both vegetables symptoms will be a hollowed appearance couple with internal browning of the stem. Minor deficiencies will be noted by a few small brown areas in the stem, with severe cases appearing as a completely hollow stem. Boron is deficient on some soils in Kentucky.
