Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) leaf symptoms are variable and include chlorosis, mosaic (distinctive dark and light green areas), distortion, ringspots, necrosis, and “oakleaf” patterns around veins. Infected fruit may be pale in color and exhibit ringspots or necrotic areas; fewer fruit may be produced. CMV is vectored by aphids.

Management:
- Promptly remove and destroy diseased plant material
- Plant barrier crops
- Manage weeds (potential alternative hosts)
- Attempts to manage the insect vector have provided inconsistent results
