Alfalfa mosaic virus (AMV) leaf symptoms typically include a bright yellow mosaic or white discoloration. The virus is transmitted by aphids and can survive in a number of plant species.

Management:

  • Promptly remove and destroy diseased plant material
  • Use reflective mulches
  • Insecticide sprays are not reliable
  • Do not plant peppers within or next to alfalfa plantings
