Tobacco etch virus (TEV) leaf symptoms commonly include mottling (light and dark areas in irregular patterns) or distortion. Root necrosis and plant stunting may also occur. Fruit may show mottling or mosaic (distinctive dark and light green areas) symptoms. Aphids vector TEV.

Management:
- Promptly remove and destroy diseased plant material
- Select resistant cultivars
- Apply mineral oils
- Use reflective mulches
