Root-Knot Nematode of Cucurbit Crops
Return to Diseases
Root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita) affects all cucurbits. In Kentucky, root-knot nematode is a problem mainly in areas with lightly textured or sandy soils. Above ground symptoms include stunting and chlorosis of plants. Leaves of affected plants may develop chlorosis between veins or symptoms of nutrient deficiency; roots show a characteristic knotting and galling.
