Sunscald of Solanaceous Crops
Return to Physiological and Nutrient Disorders
Sunscald typically occurs on the shoulders of tomato and pepper fruit, though it can occur anywhere the fruit are unprotected from full sunlight. Nitrogen fertility and irrigation affect the amount of foliage that a plant produces, which will affect the chances for sunscald injury.
